As Above, So Below
In 2020, As Above, So Below collected the still remnants of our military arsenal: above, skyscapes — the shimmering clouds left hanging in the air once a missile has gone; below, craters — the hundreds of nuclear wounds of the Nevada Test Site, seen from satellites. Two abstract portraits of power, separated by altitude.
In 2026, missiles are not just being tested anymore. Ballistic missiles are on the nightly news, and so this series had to be revisited. The source of the 2020 stills remade as a video installation. The endless rehearsal of force & propaganda is set back in motion. After all the apocalyptic fire, only clouds and dirt are left behind, over and over again.
First shown in the group exhibition (Faire) Face au Nucléaire, Le Delta — Namur, BE, 2026.
